Instructions

  1. Rinse the long-grain rice under cold water until clear. In a pot, combine the rice and water, bringing it to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in milk and cheese until melted and creamy.
  4. Fold the cooked rice into the cheese mixture with garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe dish and bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
