Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 large egg
  • 28 oz crushed tomatoes (high-quality)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix until just combined.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion until translucent; add garlic and sauté for an additional 30 seconds.
  3. Form the meat mixture into 1-2 inch meatballs using wet hands to avoid sticking.
  4. Brown the meatballs in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes on all sides.
  5. Pour crushed tomatoes over the browned meatballs and gently stir to coat.
  6. Lower heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes until sauce thickens.
