  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook spaghetti in salted water until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, one egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti, half of the meat sauce, half of the ricotta mixture, and half of the mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
