  • 1 (14.75 oz) can wild-caught salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried dill)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and drain the canned salmon, then flake it into a mixing bowl.
  2. In the same bowl, combine flaked salmon with breadcrumbs, chopped onion, eggs, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small patties about 2 inches wide.
  4. In a large skillet over medium heat, add enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan and heat until shimmering.
  5. Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil and serve warm with dipping sauce or salad.
