  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (dark)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  2. Add the egg, milk, and vanilla; stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. For the filling, combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Cut into rectangles; place half on baking sheets, spoon filling onto each, then cover with another rectangle.
  7. Crimp edges with a fork to seal and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden.
