  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (approximately 1 oz)
  • 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese blend
  • 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
  • Sour cream (for serving)
  • Green onions and cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef with taco seasoning until browned (5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in refried beans and salsa until well combined and heated through.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half the meat mixture, followed by half the crushed tortilla chips, then half the cheese. Repeat the layers.
  5. Top with remaining cheese and bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot with sour cream and garnish with green onions or cilantro.
