Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, yeast, and 1 tsp sugar in a small bowl. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter and eggs; pour in the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. For the filling, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top. Roll tightly into a log.
  7. Slice the log into equal pieces and place them in a greased loaf pan. Cover again and allow to rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
