  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (optional, for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dough: In a bowl, sprinkle yeast over warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. In another bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Combine with yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until combined.
  2. Knead Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  3. Make Filling: Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  4. Add Filling & Roll: Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll tightly from one end to another and slice into even pieces.
  5. Bake Rolls: Arrange slices in a greased baking dish. Cover while preheating oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Create Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with cream cheese (if using) and vanilla extract. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
