  • 8 oz spaghetti (cooked al dente)
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage (lean)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and let cool.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat, then stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta, eggs, half of the mozzarella, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti followed by half of the meat mixture and half of the ricotta mixture. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  6. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and garnishing with fresh herbs.
